Before Getting Your New Family Member

Buying a puppy is a commitment for probably 15 years so it is important to put a lot of thought into the purchase. It is also important to be sure a French Bulldog or a Dachshund is the dog for you and will fit into your family's way of life.

NEVER make the decision to get a dog or puppy on a whim. A dog is a lifetime commitment and a lot of thought should go in to it before making the decision----

Do go and visit a reputable breeder who will be only too willing to show you their dogs of varying ages and both sexes. The breeder will be able to show you how to look after the dog's coat, how often it will need bathing, trimming and how to groom it. Both French Bulldogs and Dachshunds will need grooming and regular bathing because they  love to play!

DO NOT buy from a PUPPY FARM or PET SHOP.

HELP US TO STOP PUPPY FARMING. Read about puppy farming information in association with C.A.R.I.A.D (Care And Respect Includes All Dogs).

It is important to buy from someone who knows about the Breed and can give you continuing support throughout your Dog's life. To find good breeders you must get in touch with your country's French Bulldogs and Dachshunds Clubs, their Secretaries will be able to give you names of people in your area with puppies or knowledgeable breeders who can help you.

NEVER buy a new dog without visiting it at its home. If someone makes excuses as to why you cant go to their home, just walk away and report it to C.A.R.I.A.D.
